“Callus” is an architectural installation conceptualized and realized for the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University. We wanted to emphasize the gestures and process of making instead of creating cookie-cutter imageries typical to an academic communal setting. To create these light walls, artists, designers, and makers of multiple disciples are photographed and filmed at their craft. Their motions, often repetitive with an embedded muscle memory, are tracked and rendered as axial points, which were then scraped away from translucent prints of their actions on plexiglass.
